2025 AUSTRALIAN DOMESTIC GAS OUTLOOK – SYDNEY
A Dutton-led Coalition Government will turbocharge our resources sector â and we see the future of gas as being instrumental to that.

We cherish this country because it affords opportunities like no other. But only â and I stress this point â if weâre governed well. When Australia is governed badly, dreams and ambitions become beyond reach. And thatâs whatâs happened during the last three years under the Albanese Government.
So mining pays the bills for Australia and I start all of my presentations with that because that is an incredibly important thing to know and I’m not sure that Australians do know that anymore. We certainly know the Treasurer doesn’t know that. And at the budget last year with a $50 billion surplus from windfall prices, he managed in his budget speech to not mention mining at all, much less coal, gas or iron ore. Couldn’t find anywhere to mention that in his speech. That is shocking.
With gas prices skyrocketing by 33.9 per cent under Labor, the Coalition remains strong supporters of the gas industry and will oppose any attempts to stymie gas production â including todayâs introduction of a Teal bill to ban seismic testing.
Along with my colleagues, we have spent the last two years listening, engaging, and working with the resources sector. We know what your sector needs to flourish; to get Australia back on track. A Peter Dutton-led Coalition Government will deliver on that.
We know what needs to be done to deliver and sustain the next mining boom for Australia: Affordable energy; Access to gas; Reduced and streamlined approval processes; Investment certainty; Workable and flexible IR laws. We now need the keys to government. We are ready.
Small businesses in North Western Australia are unable to access vital flood recovery grants while the Emergency Management Minister blames the State for the delay.
Shadow Resources Minister, Senator Susan McDonald says she holds deep concerns over the Labor
Governmentâs lawmaking procedures based on âideology and not informationâ which has resulted in
a string of bad outcomes for Australian businesses and communities.
More than $15 billion in future east coast gas projects are under a cloud of uncertainty due to Laborâs hostile attitude towards Australiaâs energy resources sector.
Family budgets will be clobbered with soaring energy bills this Christmas despite Labor claiming its energy legislation will provide relief.
